The Feast originated at Montclair and at that time had nothing
to do with Mad Fables. Racky thought a Spring Feast would be the
Springtime answer for Thanksgiving, and feed the hunger that
everyone was bringing into his apartment. The idea was for each person to bring enough of one dish to feed two people. Spring Feast One was held on a
Saturday evening, with about 10-12 people showing up ( Racky, Jeff
Hays, Bruce Warren, Lauren Pletzner and Joe DiCristino reunited at S.F.#20 as five of the original attendees to S.F.#1). The second Feast The second Feast was held at the Mad Fable's residence in Belleville, a.k.a "The Enchanted Castle" and the celebration became closely tied with the group's history. The largest Feast was the one at Blairstown (over 500 people -- see the background to the first live album).![]() third feast at the New Hampton house, 1975 Feast # 5 Directions Feast # 20 Invitation (by Mario Mulligan) |

My favorite was the feast at Rodney Hartung's barn. |
